The Ensemble Vocale Palazzo Incantato is a mixed-voice ensemble and consists of 13 elements, some of which have own musical activities.
Founded in 1991 the Ensemble performed numerous productions and was often invited to exhibitions, festivals and concert seasons all over Italy. It has a vast repertoire that includes ‘500 and ‘600 “a cappella” or accompanied music, villancicos, motets, chansons and madrigals.
The ensemble won the 1st Prize of T.I.M. 1996 edition, organized in Rome by A.GI.MUS, after the 2nd prize in ’93.
It ranked:
– 4th place at the “Città di Vittorio Veneto” National Choir Competition (1998);
– 2nd prize at the “Città di Barletta” International Competition (2001);
– 2nd prize at the “Premio Battipaglia” National Polyphonic Competition (2003);
– 2nd prize at the “Rotary Club Foggia Capitanata” National Competition (2005);
– 3rd prize (1st and 2nd unassigned) at the “St. Bartolomeo” National Competition (Benevento, 2005);
– 2nd prize at the 1st edition of the “A.Guanti” National Choir Competition (Matera, 2011);
– 4th place at the 28th edition of the G. D’Arezzo National Competition (2011).
In 2002 the Ensemble recorded for Tactus the integral execution of the “First Book of Madrigals for 4 voices” by the Apulian composer Pomponio Nenna.
In 2006 the Ensemble recorded the CD “Adieu mes amours” for Dad Records, including unpublished sacred works of the Apulian composers Rocco Rodio, Stefano Felis, Giovanni Maria Sabino. The latest album of the group, recorded in 2009 for Digressione Contemplativa, consists of unpublished music by Pomponio Nenna: “the Christmas Responsories for four voices.”
The magazine Choraliter – Quarterly of Feniarco – enclosed in the December 2014 the CD “Benedictus Dominus – sacred polyphony in Puglia” performed by Ensemble Vocale Palazzo Incantato.
