Coro Femminile Floreos

The Female Choir Floreos was born in Rome in 2000, directed for 15 years by Maria Silvia Merlini.
In September 2015 Federico Incitti, former vice-director (2009-2011), was named Artistic Director. Under his lead, Floreos performed first at the Conservatory of Trento (October 2015) with a programme entitled “Seasons of Love” including pieces from Renaissance, Romanticism and contemporary age. After that, Floreos selected some pieces of this repertoire and competed for the 32nd National Choir Competition “Guido d’Arezzo”, resulting as winner of the 3rd prize in the mixed choir, equal voices and vocal groups categories (on 12 competitors).
In the past the choir obtained important aknowledgments: 1st prize in the Regional Competition “Città di Formello” in the XX and XXI music category (June 2009) and 1st prize in the National Competition of Zagarolo (June 2007).
Floreos always performed intensely both in Italy and abroad, particularly in Germany and Hungary. In May 2006 Floreos performed in the Church of the Artists in Rome and soon after in Warsaw with a program based on the Holy Week, alternating a cappella performances with sax improvisations by Ilda de Bonis.
The choir applies for the 6th International Choir Competition “Antonio Guanti” with a programme entitled “Et rami eius pullulant, musical journey between death and rebirth”. The authors are: Tomás Luis de Victoria, Robert A. Schumann, Vic Nees, Pier Paolo Scattolin adn György Orbán.
