Associazione Corale Ad Dei Laudem

The Choir “Ad Dei laudem”, founder of the Regional Choral Association of Sicily (ARS-Cori) and Feniarco member, is among the oldest and long-running choirs in Sicily.
The repertoire includes pieces from the origins of polyphony to contemporary music, with particular attention to famous XV-XX century composers’s music, e.g. Palestrina, Da Victoria, Puccini, Verdi, Rossini, Mendelssohn, Perosi, Mascagni, Morricone, Whitacre, Lauridsen, Mignemi, Poulenc, Duruflè, Barber, Sandstrom, Bettinelli, Gjeilo.
Latest important activities:
• 2000: performance of Carmina Burana with the direction of M° Sebastian Korn;
• 2011 and 2013: performance of Mozart’s Requiem (for solo voices, chorus and orchestra) in the cathedrals od Acireale, Siracusa, Catania and Lentini;
• 2012: performance of Vivaldi’s Gloria RV589 (for solo voices, chorus and orchestra);
• 2015: presentation concert of the CD “C’era una volta a Nuvena”, with the artist from Lentini Alfio Antico;
• 2016: performance of Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle (for solo voices, chorus, piano and harmonium);
• 2016: Oscar concert with a Hommage to Ennio Morricone, performing music by Morricone, Piovani, Vangelis and Rota.

• 2000: 46th Torrevieja International Polyphony and Habanera Competition (ES), 3rd place;
• 2000: 5th Christmas Songs from Calabria Competition (Reggio Calabria), 1st place;
• 2001: 4th Città di Balestrate National Competition (PA), 2nd place;
• 2002: 3rd MAGMA International Music Competition (Sant’Agata Li Battiati, CT), 1st place;
• 2008: Competition in Alessandria della Rocca (AG): special prize for new music;
• 2008: Città di Polizzi Generosa National Competition (PA): 1st place and ARS-Cori Prize as best sicilian choir.
• 2009: 14th Premio Benedetto Albanese National Competition (Caccamo, PA): 1st place.
