Ensemble Vocale Libercantus

Founded in 2006, it consists of singers who love ancient and contemporary polyphony.
The choir performed significant concerts at the X Ancient Music of L’Aquila Festival, at the Choral Festival of Cordenons (Pordenone) and in the Chianti towns Barberino Val d’Elsa, for the D’UmbriAntica Music Festival, for the week of Gregorian Chant in Norcia, for the UNESCO Heritage days and for the “Per Sonar Organi” 2011 Concertistic Festival in Genoa, for the 2011, 2015 and 2016 “Bagliori d’Autore” Literature National Festival in Perugia and Civitanova Marche, for the 820th anniversary of the canonization of St. Ubaldo (with premieres of ’600 and ‘700 music dedicated to the saint), in the St. Francis of Assisi Upper Basilica, in Panicale for Morettini Festival, in St. Peter’s Basilica in Perugia, in the Orvieto Cathedral, in Ascoli Piceno for the 2013 Apennines Festival and Templar Complex of San Bevignate (Pg) for the Concert titled “in Paradisum”, in the Pantheon in Rome in December 2015 for the Jubilee, in April 2016 in Tübingen in the conservatory auditorium.
The choir participated in the recording of the CD “Paesaggi Umbri ” by Maestro Antonio Rossi; in 2013 the choir recorded his first CD “Geometrie Vocali-Sacred Songs”.
The choir attended master classes with G. Graden, P. Phoenix and L. Donati.
The choir director is, from the foundation, Vladimiro Vagnetti.
Competitions and awards:
• October 19, 2014 2nd prize (first not awarded) at the Fermo National Choral Competition.
• August 29, 2015 1st prize in polyphony category at the “City of Chivasso “(TO) International Choral Competition Irenè.
• November 29, 2015 1st prize at the Guido d’Arezzo National Polyphonic Competition and Special Award
for the best performance of a contemporary piece of Italian author.
• August 27, 2016 2nd prize (1st not awarded) at the Guido d’Arezzo International Polyphonic Competition in Vocal Groups Category.
